Recently, I was able to join a short-term missions trip organized by Anacostia River Church to Ghana, West Africa. Our team, consisting of six women, collaborated with Jan and Lloyd Chinn, missionaries from World Ventures, to host a Women's Conference with a focus on enhancing bible literacy. During the conference, I conducted a workshop on drawing gospel connections from scripture and delivered a lesson based on Ezra 1. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those who supported me on this journey. Your generosity and prayers were instrumental in making this mission a success. I appreciate your willingness to contribute to the gospel work being carried out in Nkwanta. My time in Ghana was filled with unforgettable experiences, some of which will stay with me for years to come.
10. Chief Nana
Meeting the chief of the Adele people and exploring the village of Krontang. Meeting Chief Nana Kwaku Afram II was a profound experience. His graciousness and the warm welcome we received in Krontang were unforgettable. Learning about the cassava processing methods and witnessing the daily life in the village gave me a deeper appreciation for the rich culture and industrious spirit of the Adele people. Despite the challenges faced by the community, including the historical opposition to Christianity, their resilience and unity were truly inspiring.
Pray that Chief Nana and his successor would continue to innovate in the area of cassava production to add to the economic stability of the Adele people. Also pray for the bible translators that are working to translate the word into Adele. They have completed the New Testament and are working on the Old Testament. The opportunity for this people to have, the Bible translated into their heart language is it fresh opportunity to reach the lost.

9. Hawkers
Witnessing the entrepreneurial spirit of so many. The bustling markets and roadside vendors in Ghana were a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in the community. It seemed that most people owned some sort of small business or shop through which they provided for their families and served the community. From fresh produce and homemade goods to a variety of household items, the resourcefulness and determination of these entrepreneurs were truly inspiring. The market was a vibrant hub of activity, showcasing the community's creativity and industriousness.
Pray for women like Grace a jewelry maker, Florence and Sabina seamstresses, Fatima a household good seller, and Charity a food seller, that the work of their hands may be multiplied and they would continue to be able to provide a better life for their families.
8. Fashion
Seeing so many beautiful designs in unique and traditional fabrics and patterns. The vibrant colors and intricate patterns of Ghanaian fashion left a lasting impression. Each piece of clothing told a story, reflecting the rich heritage and creativity of the people. The traditional fabrics and designs were not only beautiful but also a significant part of the cultural identity. The array of fabrics in the market was stunning, and I was particularly taken by the unique patterns and the skillful craftsmanship behind each piece.
Praise God for the glamor and creativity of so many. May they never feel the need to conform to western standards of beauty and style.
7. The Team
Getting to share this experience with women I've had the pleasure to serve and study alongside of for the past few years. Traveling with such a dedicated and compassionate team was a blessing. Sharing this journey with women I've served and studied with deepened our bonds and enriched our experience. Our collective efforts and support for one another made the trip even more meaningful. We laughed, prayed, and supported each other, making the challenges of the trip more manageable and the successes more joyful.
Praise God for the work He has done in our lives through the EQUIPPED Women's Cohort. I am especially greatful to Kristie Anyabwile for her leadership and desire to see women flourish in the knowledge of the word of God.

6. Cape Coast Castle
Added bonus of our trip that I will never forget. Visiting Cape Coast Castle was a poignant and unforgettable experience. The historical significance and the somber reality of the transatlantic slave trade were deeply moving. It was a stark reminder of the resilience and strength of the human spirit, and it reinforced the importance of remembering and learning from history. Despite the darkness of its history, the visit to Cape Coast Castle was a powerful educational experience that I will carry with me forever.
Praise God for docents like Thomas and many others who hold the history of this space so that others might see.

5. The Chinns
Encouraged by their faithfulness in ministry to the people of Nkwanta. Jan and Lloyd Chinn’s dedication to their ministry in Nkwanta was incredibly inspiring. Their unwavering faith and commitment to serving the community were evident in everything they did. Their hospitality and guidance were invaluable, making our mission both impactful and fulfilling. They have built strong relationships in the community, and their influence and support were key to the success of our conference.
Pray for the work of the Chinns in Ghana and through out Africa as they work to develop Missionaries across the continent. Pray, especially for the work that they are doing at the Nkwanta Leadership Equipping Center. They are currently working to build out the facility to house even more programs and services.

4. Translators
Awed by the skill of the women who helped make our message clear. The translators we worked with were exceptional. Their ability to convey our messages accurately and effectively was crucial to the success of the conference. Their linguistic skills and cultural insights ensured that our teachings resonated deeply with the attendees. These women, including Miriam, Georgiana, Rejoice, and Nancy, played a vital role in bridging the language gap and making our sessions meaningful.
Praise God for these women. They didn't only serve us, but server as leaders and translators in thier churches making the word of God clear beyond a one time event.

3. Nkwanta
Charmed by this little town, its people, and way of life. Nkwanta charmed me with its simplicity and warmth. The town’s vibrant markets, friendly locals, and picturesque landscapes created a welcoming and homely atmosphere. The sense of community and the pace of life were refreshing and offered a glimpse into the heart of Ghana. The prevalence of out-of-home (OOH) advertising, including political signs, product and event advertisements, and obituaries, was also surprising and added to the town's unique character.
Pray for the town as they remain on a 6 PM. curfew, due to regional violence that is taking place in a land dispute with a neighboring people group.

2. Praise and Worship
Overwhelmed by the wholehearted and full-body experience of praise, worship, and prayer. The praise and worship were a highlight of the trip. The energy, passion, and devotion were palpable. It was a full-body, wholehearted expression of faith that left me feeling spiritually uplifted and deeply connected to the community. The worship at Global Evangelical Church, with translations in Twi, Adele, and English, was particularly moving.
Praise God for the uncolonized expressions of praise to Him. I truly believe there will be dance circles and tambourine shaking in heaven.
Pray for Osofo(pastor) John of Global Evangelical Church, a former fetish priest who now preaches the gospel.
Pray that he would remain faithful in his work and trust god, to provide for the needs of His people and His church.

1. The Women
Grateful for the women who took time out of their lives to be built up in the word. Their hunger and thirst for righteousness was evident. The women who attended the conference were the heart of this mission. Their eagerness to learn, grow, and strengthen their faith was truly inspiring. Their stories, struggles, and triumphs highlighted the universal challenges women face and the power of faith to overcome them. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to connect with and learn from these remarkable women. Their commitment to their spiritual growth was evident, and it was a privilege to share in their journey.
Praise God that so many women were able to sit under the teaching of God's word and learned about ways to better study the Bible. For some, these were new concepts for others they were reminders.
Pray that the Word would bare much fruit in the lives of these women, and that they would take what they've learned
And use it for the benefit of their families, their churches in their communities.
